The south central region's largest contractors had about $11.1 billion in regional
revenue and more than $30.2 billion in total revenue, according to data compiled
by South Central Construction magazine.

water and wastewater treatment plant upgrades across the south central region

Plant in Lafayette will increase the facility's capacity by more than 50 percent

Projects at two Shreveport plants will boost capacity,
improve efficiency Upgrade projects have been underway since May 2005
at two Shreveport wastewater treatment facilities. The projects, under a single

Bayou Lafourche lock to be floated 80 mi. for
installation When the water elevation rises in Bayou Lafourche in south
Louisiana, the South Lafourche Levee District is forced to shut the floodgates.
That prevents flooding, but it also wreaks havoc on fishing, boating and barge
