Griffin gets Victoryland Greyhound Park electrical project

Wayne J. Griffin Electric Inc. of Pelham, Ala., was recently awarded the electrical installation work for the Victoryland Greyhound Park project in Shorter, Ala.

The project requires the expansion of Victoryland Greyhound Park to include bingo gaming in addition to dog racing. When complete, the project will include 90,000 sq. ft. of renovation and growth to the existing structure.

Electrical work consists of new lighting installation, a 2000 KW generator, fire alarm, power distribution and tele/data systems. The facility will maintain its normal operation of 24 hours a day, seven days a week while the six-month project is underway.

"It has always been a challenge to perform installation work while a facility remains in operation," said Wayne J. Griffin, president of Griffin Electric.

Griffin Electric's project partners include architect Evan Terry & Associates and electrical engineer Jackson, Renfro & Associates Inc., both of Birmingham.
