| Batson-Cook design-builds cardiovascular
institute in Auburn Batson-Cook is currently providing design-build
services for The Institute for Advanced Cardiovascular Care in Auburn, Ala. The
project is being constructed for Community Medical Development, also of Auburn.
This state-of-the-art $9.5 million facility will feature the latest technology
in medical equipment, including CT and a heart catheterization laboratory, as
well as digital information technology. Situated on 5.9 acres of an 80-acre
high-end mixed-use development, the three-story Institute for Advanced Cardiovascular
Care will feature 58,000 sq ft of medical office space, including available tenant
space for allied medical practices. Hecht, Burdeshaw Architects of Columbus, Ga.,
is providing design services for the Batson-Cook design-build team. This
inaugural facility will feature high-quality design elements such as arriscraft
stone and window and curtainwall detailing that will establish the design vocabulary
for the total development. "This signature building will be a credit
to the City of Auburn," says Jerry Clement, vice president of design-build
for Batson-Cook. "It provides high-tech diagnostic medical care by the region's
premier cardiologists with Interstate 85 convenience." Contractor
completes Mobile's Legacy Village Shopping Center Rogers & Willard
Inc. of Mobile, Ala., has just completed the construction of the new 82,000-sq-ft
Legacy Village Shopping Center in Mobile. Also recently completed by Rogers &
Willard is Gallery Fifty Nine in Foley, Ala., a 12,000-sq-ft retail structure.
Construction was completed in December. Rogers & Willard has been awarded
the contract for the 32,000-sq-ft build-out of the 17th and 18th floor of the
RSA Tower to be occupied by International Shipholding Corp., and under construction
for several months now is the new multi-million dollar Lexus of Mobile Dealership,
with anticipated completion in January 2007. Huntsville
Cancer Institute opens Birmingham-based healthcare construction specialist
Robins & Morton recently completed the $22 million Clearview Cancer Institute
in Huntsville, Ala. Grand opening for the facility was held in October. The
115,000-sq-ft steel structure is on a 15-acre site and will accommodate an oncology
practice for eight physicians and supporting ancillary departments of medical
laboratory, radiation therapy and imaging. The institute has 53 exam rooms and
60 infusion cubicles. |
