Gallet & Associates opens new Huntsville office

Gallet & Associates Inc. of Birmingham, Ala., recently announced the opening of a new office location in Huntsville, Ala.

Gallet & Associates offers geotechnical, environmental, construction materials testing, construction financial services and technical training services.

Golden & Associates breaks ground on Alabama emergency operations center

Golden & Associates Construction LLC of Birmingham, Ala., broke ground recently on a $3.5 million addition to the Alabama Emergency Management Agency in Clanton, Ala.

The 12,000-sq-ft, two-story addition will include private offices, classrooms, storage rooms and an open office area. The building will also include an advanced security system and an uninterrupted power supply.

The exterior will be brick with precast concrete trim and will be connected to the current building by an enclosed elevated walkway. A 69-vehicle parking lot addition is also included in the project.

The project will have a 12-month construction schedule. The architect firm for the project is Montgomery's Payne & Associates Architects LLC.

AEMA provides around-the-clock monitoring of varying conditions throughout the state. They coordinate emergency assistance to local communities when affected by disasters such as tornadoes, hurricanes or floods.
