B.L. Harbert International tops out Building One at Auburn Research Park

B.L. Harbert International LLC has topped out Building One of the Auburn Research Park located on the campus of Auburn University.

The three-story, 44,000-sq-ft facility, planned for LEED Certification, is intended for small to large technology companies wishing to affiliate with and be located on the campus of a major research university.

The project is scheduled for completion in September. Northrop Grumman will be the building’s first tenant and will locate one of the corporation’s new National Work Force Centers at the facility.

Electrical work under way for new UAB Women & Infants Center

Wayne J. Griffin Electric Inc. continues the electrical installation work on the Women & Infant’s Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Once complete, the 10-story, 629,000-sq-ft core and shell project will include a Radiology/Oncology Unit, a Labor and Delivery Unit, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a Critical Care Nursery, operating rooms and administration offices.

Wayne J. Griffin Electric is the electrical contractor for this design-build project with responsibility for delivering a completely functioning primary and emergency electrical service. In addition, Griffin Electric is providing conduit systems for nurse call, fire alarm, intercom, paging and communications and is also installing a 480-volt, 8000-amp main electrical service and two 1500kW diesel generators for emergency standby power.

Brasfield & Gorrie is the design-build general contractor for this project and Gresham Smith and Partners of Birmingham is the architect and interior designer.
