Contractors selected to build BlueCross BlueShield campus in Chattanooga
Skanska USA Building Inc., EMJ Corp. and H. J. Russell & Co. have been selected by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Inc. as construction managers for the company's new Cameron Hill campus in Chattanooga, Tenn.
HKS Inc. will serve as the architect of record for the $189 million project.
The new Cameron Hill corporate campus will encompass 12 acres and will replace space BlueCross BlueShield owns or leases in multiple buildings around Chattanooga. The campus will have five buildings with 950,000 sq. ft .of office space and a 1,400,000-sq.-ft . parking garage. Also included are outdoor park areas for the more than 3,000 employees who will be located there.

Construction is scheduled for completion in early 2009.
Maxwell Johanson named a Top 20 firm by Zweig White
Management consulting and research firm Zweig White has chosen Maxwell Johanson Maher Architects of Nashville as one of the Top 20 Architectural firms to work for in 2006.
The firms were selected on their commitment to provide a positive work environment and challenging and interesting design opportunities for their employees. Stephen P. Maher AIA accepted the award on behalf of firm and all the employees at a Best Firm to Work For Summit held in Chicago on Sept. 28.
Maxwell Johanson Maher Architects was established in 1986 and currently has 42 full time employees.
TDK Construction announces more than $100 million in contracts
TDK Construction, a Murfreesboro, Tenn.-based general contractor, has announced the signing of contracts totaling $124.2 million and including construction of student housing, apartment and condominium projects.
Tarragon Corporation has awarded the Manson Pike Crossing project to TDK. The project is located in Murfreesboro on approximately 60 acres, consists of 320 apartment units and 281 townhouse and villa units. Construction has begun and will be completed in early 2008.
Royal Properties, an Illinois-based developer, has contracted with TDK to build two student housing facilities in Texas. The Outpost in Waco consists of 543 beds and The Reserve in San Antonio consists of 753 beds. These are the 12th and 13th projects that TDK has built for Royal Properties.
In addition, Royal Public Properties has awarded TDK the contract to build the Marbella on Cypress Condominiums in Ft. Myers, Fla. The proposed complex consists of 249 condo units with amenities. Phased construction has begun and completion is scheduled for a Winter 2008 completion.
TDK, with offices in Murfreesboro and Robards, Ken., has been constructing various types of commercial and residential projects for nearly 50 years.
