Alabama
The Alabama Associated Builders and Contractors recently
presented John Caddell, chairman
of Caddell Construction of Montgomery, Ala., with its 11th
Annual Cornerstone Award.
The award was given during the 2004 Excellence in Construction
Awards Ceremony at Birmingham's HealthSouth Conference Center.
Caddell accepted the award by recalling the sacrifices of
his family during his 52-year career in the construction industry.
Previous winners of the award include John Harbert, Harbert
Construction; Ted C. Kennedy, BE&K Inc.; Winton Blount,
Blount Inc.; Houston Brice, Brice Building Co.; M. Miller
Gorrie, Brasfield & Gorrie; Barry Morton, The Robins and
Morton Group; Bobby Keith, Hoar Construction; John Swindal,
Masonry Arts; T. Michael Goodrich, BE&K; and John P. Darnell,
Brasfield & Gorrie.
Arkansas
David Holley has joined the
ENCO Materials Inc. - Little Rock, Ark., Division as outside
sales representative. Prior to joining ENCO, Holley worked
with a large manufacturer, distributor and retailer of paint,
coatings and related products.
Holley brings experience in the construction and construction-related
industries as well as several years of experience in sales
and customer service.
ENCO also announced the promotion of Jody Lawrence to forming
manager. Lawrence joined ENCO in 1998 as rental yard supervisor
and has served in the Inside Sales Department and as an outside
sales representative for the Little Rock Division.
The American Society of Landscape Architects recently inducted
Ronald C. Tyne of North Little
Rock, Ark., into its Council of Fellows.
The Council of Fellows is comprised of more than 600 landscape
architects recognized by their peers for outstanding accomplishments
in works of landscape architecture, administrative leadership,
knowledge and service to the profession. Fellows may use the
designation "FASLA" following their name to signify
membership in the ASLA Council of Fellows.
Founded in 1899, ASLA is the national professional association
for landscape architects, representing more than 14,800 members.
Mississippi
Andrew Wise has been promoted
to vice president and general manager of Tindall Corp.'s Virginia
Division. Wise was previously vice president and general manager
of Tindall's Mississippi Division in Biloxi, Miss.
Wise has been with Tindall since 1971 and has a bachelor's
degree in economics from Clemson University.
Jeff Woodruff has been promoted
to vice president and general manager of the company's Mississippi
Division. He was formerly the engineering and project manager
for the division.
Woodruff has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from
Georgia Tech and is a registered professional engineer. He
has been with the organization since 1985.
Greg Force has been promoted
to president and chief operating officer for Tindall Corp.
Force has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Lehigh
University and a master's degree in business administration
from Georgia College & State University. A registered
professional engineer, he has been with Tindall since 1988.
Lawrence W. Warren, former
National Asphalt Pavement Association chairman, was one of
four individuals recently inducted into the Mississippi Hall
of Fame in 2004.
Warren is president and CEO of Warren Paving of Hattiesburg,
Miss. Charles Warren, Lawrence's father, founded the company
in 1952. Lawrence Warren assumed ownership and control of
operations when he incorporated the company in 1972. Warren
Paving now produces asphalt for highways, airport construction
and high-tech site work construction.
Warren was also the chairman of the Area Development Partnership
for two terms and served on the board of the Pine Belt Boys
and Girls Club. During his tenure, he organized the club's
fundraising efforts to construct its $2.5 million facility.
In addition to being chairman of NAPA in 1998, Warren was
president of the Mississippi Asphalt Pavement Association,
member of Associated General Contractors and the Mississippi
Road Builders Association.
Tennessee
Paint and anodize finisher Linetec recently named Rob
Seils as a regional manager with its outside sales
team. As a former inside sales manager with the company, he
now will share and apply his knowledge of Linetec's internal
systems, products and services with customers.
In his new role, Seils' sales territory will include the
western half of the U.S. plus Tennessee, Louisiana, Kentucky,
West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
With 12 years of experience in sales and management, Seils
also has worked as a sales engineer with metal fabricator
Northland Stainless Inc. of Tomahawk, Wis., and with oil and
gas exploration products supplier Smith International Inc.
in Houston, Texas.
A Wisconsin native, he lived in Texas for 20 years and earned
a bachelor's degree from Southwest Texas State University
in San Marcos.
Linetec is one of the nation's largest paint and anodize
finishers, and the largest independent architectural finisher.
With three finishing plants located in Wisconsin, the company
offers more than 500,000 sq. ft. of capacity for finishing
such products as aluminum windows, wall systems, doors, hardware
and other architectural metal components, as well as automotive,
marine and manufactured consumer goods.
NATIONAL
Terex Corporation recently announced the appointment of Stephen
Hueser as general manager of their Rock Hill, S.C.,
and Brampton, Ontario, operations.
Hueser will be responsible for overseeing finance, operations,
product development and customer service for Terex Light Construction.
Hueser comes to Terex Light Construction after four years
with Genie Industries, a Terex company, where he was responsible
for the design engineering of its rough terrain and slab scissor
lift product lines.
With more than 18 years in the construction equipment industry,
Hueser's vast experience includes product design and engineering
analysis, IT, operations and supply chain management.
Hueser graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor's
degree in mechanical engineering and earned a master's degree
in business administration from the University of Washington.
Terex Light Construction, a division of Terex Corporation,
offers a variety of light construction equipment including
light towers, power buggies, safety signage and concrete equipment.
Essex Crane Rental Corp. has appointed Bill
Erwin as vice president of operations. Erwin will assume
full responsibility for all North American Service Centers,
in addition to his current responsibilities for all aspects
of customer support.
Ron Schad, Essex Crane's CEO, commented on the appointment.
"Over the past year and a half at Essex, Bill's experience
helped us make remarkable progress in achieving our mission,"
Schad said.
Erwin joined Essex in March 2003 with more than 25 years
experience in crane-related rentals and customer service.
He graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering arts
from Michigan State University in 1976 and went to work for
Manitowoc Engineering Co.
