Alabama
The James N. Gray Company recently announced the promotion
of David Dean to vice president of its Southeast Regional
Office in Birmingham, Ala. Dean has been with Gray for more
than nine years and has held various positions in the organization
during his tenure.
In 2003 David was responsible for the start-up of Gray's
Birmingham office. His responsibilities include the marketing
and operations planning for Gray's Southeast regional operations.
The James N. Gray Company is a nationally ranked engineering
and construction firm headquartered in Lexington, Ky., with
offices in Virginia, Alabama, Texas, South Carolina, California
and Tokyo, Japan.
Gray provides customers with programming, planning, site
selection, engineering, design, construction and equipment
installation services in the automotive, distribution, food,
chemical, federal government, education and general manufacturing
industries.
Mississippi
Earl Stone of Kimes & Stone Construction Company Inc.
in Booneville, Miss., has been chosen as the new president
of the Mississippi Road Builders' Association (MRBA). He took
office in January 2005 after serving in 2004 as first vice
president.
Stone succeeds Charles Webster of Key Constructors Inc. of
Madison, Miss., who has served as association president on
three different occasions.
Other new officers for 2005 are Tom Elmore, Eutaw Construction
Company Inc. of Aberdeem, Miss., first vice president and
president-elect; Joe McGee, Joe McGee Construction Company
Inc. of Lake, Miss., second vice president and is in the chain
of succession to become president; Cindy Warner, American
Field Service Corporation of Madison, Miss., re-elected as
secretary-treasurer; and Kay Atwood VanSkiver, Atwood Fence
Company, Kosciusko, elected to the Executive Committee.
New members elected to the Board of Directors for three-year
terms are Hollis Cheek, J.C. Cheek Sod & Erosion Contractor
Inc. of Kosciusko, Miss.; Joe McGee, Joe McGee Construction
Company Inc. of Lake, Miss.; Lawrence Warren, Warren Paving

Dave Barton is the MRBA executive Director.
The MRBA began in 1937 as the Mississippi Highway Contractors
Association. The name was changed to the Mississippi Road
Builders' Association in 1949 to broaden its membership to
include not only highway contractors but allied businesses
as well. It is headquartered in Jackson.
Regional
David J. Moellering has been named to the new position of
director of business Development at APAC Inc. The position
will have responsibility for business development, marketing
and sales. He will report directly to David Guillaume, vice
president, operations support.
"Cultivating our business development and marketing
skills is a core strategy," said Garry Higdem, APAC president.
"Adding this position will give us more depth in this
key area. This role will increase the effectiveness of these
efforts in the major projects arena and will leverage and
expand the impact of those activities in our individual divisions."
"Moellering will be involved in a number of elements
of our business development, including identifying and managing
new business opportunities, increasing sales, pursuing new
markets and marketing the capabilities of our major projects
group," said Guillaume.
Moellering has more than 20 years of construction experience.
He most recently worked for Koch Materials Company of Wichita,
Kan. There he served in various leadership roles including
National Account Manager and National Product Manager. His
duties included market creation, strategic planning and new
relationship and partnership development. He was also a regional
general manager for Koch Performance Roads Inc.
A native of Indiana, Moellering has held roles of increasing
responsibility ranging from laborer to foreman, and from superintendent
to vice president of Moellering Construction, a heavy highway
construction contractor. He holds a bachelor's degree in business
administration from Taylor University.
Erik Olsson has been appointed chief operating officer for
Rental Service Corporation. Olsson has served as chief financial
officer for Rental Service since joining the company in January
2001. In his new position as COO, Olsson will oversee the
effort to fulfill the equipment rental needs of the more than
200,000 RSC customers in North America.
"Erik brings a proven track record of driving change
and achieving results," said Tom Zorn, CEO. "He
has been an integral part of the team that has restored the
profitability of Rental Service and he has an extensive international
experience, including many senior financial positions in Sweden,
Brazil and the United States."
Olsson has served Atlas Copco, the parent company of Rental
Service, for more than 16 years. After graduating from the
University of Gothenburg with a degree in business administration
and finance, he joined Atlas Copco in 1988 as a controller.
