Alabama
United Scaffolding Inc.,
an operating company of XServ Inc., has established rental
and service locations in Tucker, Ga., outside Atlanta, and
Birmingham, Ala. Greg Parker
and Dale Wilson will serve
as branch managers of these facilities, respectively.
Parker and Wilson both previously managed service centers
for a scaffold contracting company.
Parker, with 26 years of scaffolding experience, is the developer
of hands-free controls of the SkyClimber, used in engineering
projects, and MKD Boiler Stage, a modular staging platform
used for boiler work inspections.
Wilson, with more than 30 years of industry experience, is
a degreed machinist who has contributed to the manufacturing
of satellite components for the aerospace industry as well
as specialty scaffolding parts.
Both are Swing Stage-certified members of the Scaffold Industry
Association (SIA).
Mike McGinnis, XServ CEO, said, "Greg and Dale are experienced
veterans of the scaffolding and equipment rental industry
and are valued additions to the team. Our new branch offices
and the personnel that have joined Greg and Dale give us a
platform to expand our business in the Southeastern United
States.

Among the clients served by these two facilities are 3M,
Emory University, GE Power Systems, International Paper, NASA

United Scaffolding offers turnkey services by providing equipment,
sales and rentals, scaffold erection and dismantlement, engineering
and CAD design, maintenance and turnaround, Jobsite Tracking
and safety training programs to the petrochemical, refining,
offshore, power generation and other selected industries.
XServ is an industrial services company performing scaffolding
erection, dismantling and rental; insulation; coatings and
other specialty services on an integrated, multi-craft basis.
The company primarily serves refining, petrochemical, power
and other industrial facilities. Through its wholly owned
subsidiaries, XServ produces more than $300 million in annual
revenue.
Arkansas
The Flintco Cos. Inc.,
a commercial contractor, has appointed Ron
Petty to division president. In this capacity, Petty
will work with the other members of the company's executive
management team to develop and implement companywide direction
and growth strategies.
He will also continue to provide oversight for Flintco's
Albuquerque, N.M., and Springdale, Ark. offices.
"Ron has been instrumental to Flintco's success through
his leadership in American Indian business development and
his management expertise in establishing our Albuquerque and
Springdale offices," Tom Maxwell, CEO of The Flintco
Companies, said. "His contributions have benefited his
division, as well as Flintco's nationwide growth."
Petty joined The Flintco Companies in 1990 and has more than
40 years experience in the construction industry. He has served
in several roles within the company, and most recently served
as senior vice president.
One of Petty's most significant achievements has been initiating
and directing the company's business development efforts for
American Indian projects. Flintco has now worked with more
than 40 different tribal entities coast-to-coast.
Louisiana
GROUP Contractors LLC,
a Baton Rouge-based industrial contracting company, has hired
Todd Sharpe as project manager.
In his role, Sharpe will be responsible for overseeing the
direction of construction projects, including the scheduling,
budgeting and coordination of subcontractors and suppliers.
He previously worked as a project manager for Nottingham
Construction in Baker, La., and has eight years of experience
in the construction industry.
Group Industries has also hired Donn Peterson as business
development manager for GROUP Contractors LLC Drilling and
Piling Divisions. Peterson will service general contractors,
industrial plants and other building industry-related clients.
He previously worked for Vector Electric & Controls in
Gonzales.
He has more than 20 years of sales and business development
experience.
Arrighi Simoneaux LLC of
Baton Rouge has hired Jason Norris
as project manager. He will be responsible for estimating
projects, coordinating the work of subcontractors and suppliers,
and client maintenance, budgeting and scheduling for Arrighi
Simoneaux.
He previously worked as a project manager for T. Baird &
Associates, a Texas-based construction company. Norris has
more than 12 years of construction experience.
Mississippi
Williford, Gearhart & Knight
Inc. /Engineers & Surveyorsrecently announced that
Adam Granberry has joined
its Canton, Miss., office as a civil engineer.
Granberry is a graduate of Holmes Community College, where
he earned an associate's degree in pre-engineering, and a
graduate of Mississippi State University, where he earned
a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
He comes to WGK with more than eight years experience in
civil engineering design, surveying and construction management.
Granberry has designed and managed a variety of civil engineering
projects, including, curb and gutter streets, split median
boulevards, railroad spurs, retaining walls, designs of lakes,
drainage ditches, elevated water storage tanks, water distribution
systems, sewer force & gravity mains, recreational complexes
and various site designs.
He was also project engineer of low-rise metal building systems,
ranging in complexity from simple equipment sheds to elaborate
schools, churches and manufacturing facilities.
Granberry has held a Design Department head position, where
he helped manage and train civil engineer interns and engineering
technicians and routinely performed subdivision and commercial
plan reviews for various municipalities in the Central Mississippi
area.
Tennessee
SSOE Inc. Architects-Engineers
(SSOE), an international design firm, recently announced the
appointment of Bob McCain
to serve as division manager of Nashville operations and David
Verner to serve as manager of Commercial and Institutional
Operations.
McCain will assume the Nashville leadership role from David
Verner, who has served in that position for the past nine
years. Verner, senior vice president with SSOE, will be broadening
his focus to cultivate additional business in the Southeast
region and expand his efforts to include national and international
growth opportunities.
McCain has been with SSOE for more than nine years. As a
native Tennessean, he will be returning to his southern roots,
transferring from the Toledo, Ohio, office where he served
as Mechanical Department manager.
He is an active member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating
and Air-Conditioning Engineers, serving as president of the
Toledo Chapter last year.
McCain is also an active participant with the University
of Toledo Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Department, serving on its Industrial Advisory Board. He has
a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Christian
Brothers University in Memphis, Tenn., and is a licensed engineer
in nine states.

currently serves," Verner said. "Bob's appointment
to Nashville Division Manager will strengthen our firm locally

Misty Chambers, former
director of facilities planning for Monroe Carell Jr. Children's
Hospital at Vanderbilt, has joined Earl Swensson Associates
in a healthcare planning and research capacity, announced
ESa President Richard L. Miller. Chambers will serve as the
firm's clinical operations/design specialist.
"Misty brings unique talent and incredibly strong experience
in healthcare planning to our architectural firm," Miller
said. "We have been searching for just the right person
to fill this role in-house and we feel extremely fortunate
that she has chosen to join us. The largest percentage of
our work is in healthcare design and her years of clinical
experience and administration will enable us to better serve
our healthcare clients."
Chambers began her nursing career at Egleston Children's
Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., after receiving a bachelor's degree
in nursing from Emory University. Ten years later, she earned
an MSN from Vanderbilt University with a focus on nursing
administration.
She has more than 20 years of experience in clinical and
administrative areas of healthcare, including medical, surgical,
peri-operative, oncology and home health care.
With Vanderbilt University Medical Center since 1988, she
was instrumental in helping create and implement the process
to plan, design, build, equip and furnish Vanderbilt's new
freestanding children's hospital and outpatient clinics as
well as planning and coordinating the moves from existing
quarters. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, national nursing
honor society.
ESa is a 45-year-old Nashville-based firm offering services
in architecture, interior architecture, master planning and
space planning for healthcare, hospitality, education, senior
living and corporate office clients across the country.
The Flintco Cos. Inc.,
one of the largest commercial construction companies in the
nation, has appointed Kevin Moyes
as division president.
In this role, Moyes is responsible for working with the other
members of the company's executive management team to develop
and implement companywide direction and growth strategies.
He will also continue to oversee management for Flintco's
Memphis, Tenn. office.

operation of construction services for the Southeast.

Co. recently appointed Gordon
McIntyre III as president and CEO. McIntyre takes the
helm of a Memphis-based company founded more than 50 years
ago to provide equipment, rental and supplies to local contractors.
With 10 offices and 135 employees in Tennessee, Mississippi,
Arkansas and Louisiana, the company has grown to become a
leading distributor for compact equipment, construction tools
and supplies for concrete, site work, masonry and waterproofing.
Williams Equipment sells and rents products manufactured
by Bobcat, Ingersoll-Rand, Wacker and Hilti and sells materials
made by Sonneborn, Conspec, Brickform and many others. These
products are used by many trades of commercial building contractors,
infrastructure contractors, building owners, developers, homebuilders,
industry and government.
McIntyre joined Williams Equipment in 1979 and has held many
positions. Most recently he was vice president of sales and
marketing. He earned a bachelor's degree from Lambuth University
and a master's in business from the University of Memphis.
Marjorie Roysdon has joined
the Nashville-based architectural and engineering firm of
Hart Freeland Roberts Inc. (HFR) as an interior designer.
She will be involved in a wide variety of healthcare planning
and design projects for HFR, which provides its services nationwide.
Roysdon, who is NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design
Qualification) certified, previously served as team coordinator
for an architectural firm in Dallas, designing and managing
healthcare projects from schematic design through construction
administration.
Roysdon is a 1991 graduate of Virginia Tech University, where
she earned a bachelor's degree in interior design. She is
originally from the Northern Virginia area.
Hart Freeland Roberts Inc. offers a variety of services,
including architectural design, civil and structural engineering,
environmental engineering, interior design, project management,
healthcare planning, market research, healthcare master planning,
feasibility studies, programming, office furniture and equipment
procurement and move management.
Smith Seckman Reid Inc.
(SSR), an engineering design and facility consulting firm
based in Nashville, has hired Tom
B. DeFrange as project manager and communications consultant
for the firm's Dallas office.
DeFrange is responsible for low voltage communications systems
and data network designs for medical facilities and universities.
Prior to joining SSR, DeFrange worked as an independent design
consultant and owner of TLD Design Consulting, where he provided
design documentation, specifications and consulting to architectural
services and owners of higher education, K-12, corporate and
health care facilities. During this time, DeFrange also served
as an information services infrastructure designer and IS
construction coordinator with Children's Medical Center in
Dallas.
DeFrange is a member of Building Industry Consulting Service
International (BICSI) and is a Registered Communications Distribution
Designer (RCDD). He is also a member of Infocomm International
Audio Visual.
